Her return to public life is marked by a trip to Poland.
This trip marks Queen Sofia’s first official engagement since her recent hospitalization in Madrid.
During her four-day stay at the medical center, she received visits from her son, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, Infanta Elena and her sister, Princess Irene.
From the outset, the royal family confirmed the diagnosis and assured her that her recovery was progressing quickly and well.
Queen Sofia back to work
According to the agenda of activities distributed by the Zarzuela Palace, Queen Sofia will be present in the city of Cracow next Tuesday, April 23.
In the capital of the European country, she will attend the opening of the 36th edition of the Global Conference of Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI).
The conference brings together experts from around the world to share the latest advances, innovations and best practices in Alzheimer’s research, care and policy.
The conference will take place from April 23 to 25.
A personal commitment from Queen Sofia
This event is of great importance to Queen Sofia, who has long been committed to the research and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, a cause close to her heart.
The mother of her beloved cousin, Tatiana Radziwill, Princess Eugenie of Greece, died of the disease in 1989.
Since then, Queen Sofia has been deeply involved in promoting research into Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
