For no one it is a secret that, after the controversial altercation starring Queen Sofia, Letizia, Leonor and her sister Sofia in 2018 at the exit of the Easter Mass in Palma, exposed the tense relationship in the royal family, but the years have passed and everything seems to indicate that the bad relationship, at least between Queen Emeritus Sofia and her granddaughters, has been left in the past.
The relationship between the two queens is said to have become cooler but not so with that of their daughters and mother in law. Both the heir to the throne, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia have now become much closer to their grandmother, Sofia of Grecia.
How is the relationship between Queen Sofia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia?
According to the Spanish magazine Vanitatis, the granddaughters of the emeriti used to visit their grandmother at least once a week, obviously everything changed since Leonor went to study at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales.
The emeritus queen also lives in the Zarzuela palace and has strengthened ties with her granddaughters. In recent public appearances it is clear that they get along well. This has been reflected in the photos taken last summer in Palma de Mallorca where the whole family attended or at the last Princess of Asturias Awards ceremony.
