The Queen Emeritus, Doña Sofía, presided this Thursday, November 11, the opening of the IX National Congress of Alzheimer’s CEAFA at the Europa Conference Center in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the city where Iñaki Urdangarin, her son in law, resides, so many speculated that there could be a meeting between the two.
The wife of the King Emeritus, Juan Carlos I, closely follows the work of the Reina Sofía Foundation, which has been contributing to the research, prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s for 40 years.

Queen Sofia did not meet with Iñaki Urdangarin in Vitoria
As usual, the grandmother of Princesses Eleanor and Sofia was greeted with applause. During his speech he thanked the tireless work to improve the well-being of patients with this disease.
For the appointment, the queen emerita wore a tweed jacket with orange and black print that she combined with black pants. She wore her usual mix of necklaces, bracelets and a brooch on her jacket. As for accessories, she carried her black Ken bag with gold details.
The possible meeting with Iñaki Urdangarin was discarded since King Felipe’s mother only went to fulfill her official commitment and after the act she left for Madrid.
