The imprisonment of two neo-Nazi podcasters in the U.K. for encouraging violence and making shockingly racist statements about Prince Harry and baby Archie has highlighted the disturbing threats still faced by the Sussex family after exiting royal life.
Christopher Gibbons and Tyrone Patten-Walsh were sentenced to a combined 15 years in prison on January 4th for their commentary on the extremist “Black Wolf Radio” podcast, which a judge deemed had the potential to draw vulnerable individuals into terrorism.
Racist remarks against Prince Harry and Archie
Amongst their deluge of homophobic, racist, and antisemitic remarks, Gibbons and Patten-Walsh were found to have specifically targeted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s young son Archie.
Prosecutors revealed in court that Gibbons had labeled 4-year-old Archie an “abomination that should be put down”, while also asserting that Prince Harry should face execution for treason.
The shocking convictions lend credence to Prince Harry’s long-held concerns over threats to his family’s safety. This contributed to the couple stepping back from royal duties in 2020 and relocating to California.
As the Met Police’s Counter Terrorism Commander stated, the “serious consequences” faced by Gibbons and Patten-Walsh should serve as a warning to anyone seeking to encourage violence or threaten public figures.
For many Sussex supporters, the neo-Nazi vitriol directed at Prince Archie affirms that they made the right decision to build a new life away from “sinister elements” still harbored by some sectors of British society.
