Prince Harry reacted to the news of the death of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, at the age of 82.
Lord Fellowes, who shared a family connection with Harry and his brother, Prince William, through his marriage to Jane Spencer, Princess Diana’s sister, passed away for undisclosed reasons on Monday, July 29, 2024.
His passing was announced in an obituary published by The Times of the United Kingdom on Wednesday, July 31.
The news also moved other family members, including Charles Spencer, Diana’s younger brother, who paid tribute to Lord Fellowes through a touching message on his social media, highlighting his relative’s qualities and legacy.
“My absolutely exceptional brother-in-law, Robert, is no longer with us,” the 9th Earl Charles Spencer wrote. “A total gentleman – in all the best meanings of that word – he was a man of humor, wisdom & utter integrity. I’m deeply proud to have been his brother-in-law,” he added.
What Harry said about Robert Fellowes’ death
The news of Lord Robert Fellowes’ passing has shaken the royal family, including Prince Harry.
According to reports from Us Weekly, the prince has been in contact with his aunt, Lady Jane Fellowes, and other members of the Spencer family after learning of the event.
Over the years, Harry has maintained a close relationship with the Spencers, who have supported him at significant events such as the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
For the time being, the Duke of Sussex has not issued any public statements on the loss of his uncle, and it is not known if he will participate in any memorial service in the United Kingdom.
