To honor the 25th anniversary of The Diana Award, Rock Choir, the U.K.’s largest contemporary choir, is lending its voices to a meaningful cause with the release of a special charity single.

The choir’s version of Make Your Own Kind of Music, originally sung by Cass Elliot, will make its debut on Nov. 1, accompanied by a music video filmed at Althorp House—the childhood home of Princess Diana and the place where she is laid to rest.

In September, around 350 Rock Choir members gathered at the historic Althorp estate to record the song.

Charles Spencer, Diana’s brother, opened the family home for the recording and praised the project’s mission. “What a treat to welcome 350 members of the Rock Choir to Althorp House today,” he shared on social media, noting that the song supports The Diana Award’s ongoing efforts to carry forward his sister’s legacy by empowering young people.

The Diana Award was established in memory of Diana after her tragic passing in 1997 and remains the only charity created in her honor.

The organization works to ensure that no young person is left behind, a mission strongly supported by both of her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

According to Tessy Ojo, the CEO of The Diana Award, Diana’s legacy lives on through her sons’ commitment to the same cause, which reflects the selfless spirit Diana brought to her humanitarian work.

Ojo shared that Diana “went where the pain was,” reaching out to people who were often overlooked. She expressed that this dedication is something Prince William and Prince Harry both inherited, as they too strive to address pressing social issues. This principle of going where it’s difficult, she explained, is central to the charity’s work and the legacy it seeks to maintain.

The heartfelt recording will soon be available worldwide, and Rock Choir’s interpretation aims to raise both funds and awareness for The Diana Award’s programs, which focus on empowering young people.

For those who want a preview, Charles Spencer shared a snippet of the choir singing during their recording session at Althorp.
