On the second day of the Danish royal state visit to Sweden. On Tuesday morning, the royal agendas were divided.
While King Carl XVI Gustaf and Prince Frederick visited the Berga naval station near Stockholm, their wives, Queen Silvia and Mary, explored Prince Eugene’s Waldemarsudde art collection.
Later, they reunited at the City Hall in the capital for lunch, joined by Princess Victoria with her husband Daniel, and Prince Carl Philip with Sofia.
Second day of the Danish royal state visit to Sweden
It’s another chance to enjoy the great looks of this State trip, with two clear stars: Mary and Victoria.
Both have opted for bold colors on this second day, with the Danish queen in red and the Swedish heir in fuchsia.
They also coincided in pairing their outfits with towering heels by Gianvito Rossi.
Mary of Denmark’s style
Let’s start with Mary of Denmark, who once again dug into her wardrobe, as she has been doing since the visit began.
The Australian is keen on giving her clothes a second life, and she did so with an elegant crimson dress by Raquel Deniz.
It’s a midi silk design called ‘Harmony’, featuring puffy long sleeves with defined cuffs, a teardrop neckline, and an integrated belt with a bow.
Mary first wore the dress in August 2018, and it had been worn by another Scandinavian royal before: Princess Mette-Marit.
Since its debut, Mary has chosen it five times, making it one of her favorite designs.
This time in Stockholm, as mentioned, she paired it with red suede pumps, also by Gianvito Rossi, with heels over 10 centimeters high.
To complement the red, the Danish queen added camel accessories to her look, including a new leather bag by Anya Hindmarch, the Mortimer model, and a coat to shield herself from the Nordic chill.
Mary also wore floral-shaped earrings made of yellow gold with diamonds by Ole Lynggaard, matching a brooch pinned to her dress.
Princess Victoria’s style
As for Victoria, the princess brought back a pink dress she debuted last year for a very special event, now marking its one-year anniversary: the reception hosted by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace for his coronation.
It’s a design by Roland Mouret known for its remarkable drape. Made of textured cady silk, it features a draped front yoke and a pleated skirt.
Like Mary, the heir wore towering heels by Gianvito Rossi, hers in nude color, matched with a clutch in the same shade. Completing her ensemble were yellow gold earrings.
