Who is the first member of the British Royal Family to have a Tik Tok account? This is their first video

The British Royal Family also has a presence on other social media sites as well.

It was only a matter of time before a member of the British royal family succumbed to the temptation to open an account on the most popular video platform of the moment: Tik Tok.

Although the royals already have a presence on social media such as Instagram, YouTube, and X (formerly known as Twitter), it seems that these are not enough to otherwise connect with the public.

One member of the family has decided to explore a new virtual community through this dynamic video platform.

In this case, we refer to Sarah Ferguson, the mother of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who has taken the step of joining Tik Tok, breaking barriers and setting a precedent for the monarchy.

The Duchess of York has become the first royal to foray into Tik Tok, marking her debut by posting an emotional video reflecting her battle with cancer.

Sarah launched her account using the username @sarahtheduchess. In less than 24 hours, her first video reached more than 4,000 views and amassed more than 700 followers.

In her bio, she describes herself as “mom, grandmother, best-selling author, creative and founder of Sarah’s Trust.”

In her first video, Sarah chose a casual outfit, consisting of a denim jacket and aqua blue-toned jumpsuit, as she sat in a field to record the clip, which she titled “My first ever TikTok!”.

In her touching message, the 65-year-old Duchess revealed that she felt “empty” and experienced total and utter fear upon receiving her breast cancer diagnosis in June 2023.

During a 40-minute drive between hospitals, what surprised her most was her inability to speak, an experience she found remarkable.

Sarah added the following caption: “One cancer diagnosis was bad enough but to go through all those emotions twice was a lot to handle.”

With her recent foray into Tik Tok, Sarah Ferguson not only seeks to share her personal story, but also to create a space for support and connection with those going through similar situations.

@sarahtheduchess My first ever TikTok! How it felt hearing my breast cancer diagnosis. One cancer diagnosis was bad enough but to go through all those emotions twice was a lot to handle. For anyone going through this now, know that you are not alone. 🩷❤️‍🩹 I am proud to share that I am officially a patron for #PreventBreastCancer, an incredible organisation that is dedicated to the prediction and prevention of #breastcancer. #BreastCancerAwareness #PinkOctober #CancerTok #BreastCancerSurvivor ♬ original sound – Sarah Ferguson (Fergie)
