The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, continues to amaze the public with her diverse skills and commitment to the community.
In a memorable recent appearance, she took the helm of a boat at a regatta in Guernsey, just after her trip to Paris to cheer on the British team at the Olympics.
At 59, Sophie proves that royalty can combine elegance with adventure while engaging in meaningful activities.

The regatta, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, brought together young sailors who crossed the English Channel in 12 different boats.
Sophie, in her role as patron of the Association of Sail Training Organizations (ASTO), was not only on hand to greet them but also joined the competition aboard The Prolific, an Ocean Youth Trust South sailboat, reports Tatler.
Her active participation, taking the wheel, dazzled the crowds and showcased her prowess at sea.
In addition to her seamanship, the Duchess also demonstrated her personal style. Her outfit, which included a windbreaker and polo shirt from ASTO, was complemented by an Anya Hindmarch bag and white Toms espadrilles.
To accentuate her connection to the recent Olympics, Sophie wore an official cap in navy blue, a nod to her experience in Paris.
This visit to Guernsey was significant, as it marked Sophie’s first time on the island since assuming her new title of Duchess of Edinburgh in 2023.
Her previous visit, accompanied by Prince Edward, was to commemorate the 77th anniversary of Guernsey’s liberation from German occupation, highlighting her continued interest in the history and culture of the region.
The Duchess combines her role as a royal with her commitment to the younger generation and sport. Sophie continues to be an influential and admired figure in British royalty.
