A video showing Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, together with little Princess Charlotte, has gone viral on social media.
The video was recorded during celebrations for King Charles’ first Trooping the Colour, which took place on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
On this important date, the Windsors were dressed to the nines, and no wonder, as the parade featured more than 1,500 soldiers, 300 horses, and 400 musicians, creating an impressive display of military precision to commemorate his official birthday.
What did the Duchess of Edinburgh say to Princess Charlotte?
Social media users are divided as to what exactly the Duchess of Edinburgh said to Princess Charlotte after a video was posted showing both royals watching the parade.
In the video, it is seen when Charlotte asks a question and the Duchess responds.
When Sophie responds, several people believe that she is ordering the little princess to sit down.
However, there are those who believe that the video simply shows a warm connection between the two, while others point out that the duchess was very rude in her treatment of Charlotte.
The claim that Sophie told the young royal to sit down was denied by Jeremy Freeman, a lip-reading expert, who spoke to the Daily Star and revealed what the royal actually told the princess.
In fact, he says, Charlotte asked her aunt: ‘Sophie how long will it be?’
And then Sophie replied: ‘I think it’s now.’
