Remembrance Day ceremonies in London concluded on Sunday, November 12, with the participation of the British Royal Family.
The day was dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the World Wars and other conflicts.
The entire family, headed by King Charles, was present.
However, users of social media noticed the absence of Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.
Sophie of Edinburgh at Remembrance Day
After the expected Remembrance Day celebration, many expected to see the royal family in full force on this special day.
However, some prominent members, such as the Duchess of Edinburgh, were absent, as noted on social media.
Kate Middleton and Queen Camilla took their seats on the royal balcony, but Sophie’s absence was strange to many, considering her husband, Prince Edward, played a prominent role in the event.
According to The Mirror, the Duchess was on another Foreign Office balcony, accompanied by Princess Anne’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.
Although she was not shown in the live coverage of the event, many thought that she was not actually present at the ceremony.
The same media adds that Sophie wore a beautiful black dress that she had already worn at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.
In addition, she completed her outfit with three poppies attached to the coat, a black hat and elegant pearl earrings.
