Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, celebrated with excitement at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by hugging a spectator, showing her more casual side.
On August 5, Prince Edward’s wife Sophie passionately cheered on the Great Britain women’s track cycling team at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Velodrome.
The British team won their first gold in the team sprint event and set a new world record with a time of 45.186 seconds.

This is not the first time a royal has shown such enthusiasm for the Olympics.
In 2012, Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a joyous embrace when the Great Britain team won a cycling event at the London Olympics.
Although the Paris 2024 Olympics have featured several royal appearances, the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate, have yet to make an appearance.
The couple, 42, have been enjoying a quieter summer with their children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, during their school vacations.
There is speculation that they may still visit Paris before the conclusion of the Games on August 11. However, Princess Kate’s plans could depend on her state of health, as she continues her chemotherapy treatment.
