The British royal family does not usually share many details about their private celebrations, but this time they have made an exception for the birthday of Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.
On January 20, Sophie will celebrate her 60th birthday, and it looks like there will be a big celebration that will even make Princess Anne adjust her schedule a bit.
The celebration promises to be full of surprises, especially on the Royal Family’s social media channels, where we will surely see new photos and special messages.

In fact, the early festivities have already begun. On January 15, Sophie was celebrated at the Company Shop community center in Lambeth, where she was treated to a delicious cake. She was seen beaming with a big smile as she posed with her cake.
A burgundy sweater, a chic cream coat from Harris Wharf, and an elegant green pleated midi skirt by Alberta Ferretti were part of her outfit for the occasion.
As a final touch, a pair of maroon leather ankle boots by Jimmy Choo and a “Paola” bag by Sophie Habsburg in green completed her look. A true splurge of elegance.
The small “Poetica” earrings and the “Africa” ring by Giulia Barela also added a special touch.
And while Sophie celebrates, Princess Anne already has her next destination in mind.
According to GB News, she will depart for South Africa just after the Duchess’s celebration for her first overseas visit of 2025.
Among her engagements, she will unveil a memorial in Cape Town in memory of South Africans who participated in World War I and will undertake other important activities in the city, such as visiting the South African Riding for the Disabled Association and the South African Astronomical Observatory.
So, as Sophie prepares for her party, Princess Anne is also getting ready for an agenda full of meaning and excitement in South Africa.
