The menu for Christmas dinner this 2022 is already ready. Queen Letizia has been in charge of rigorously selecting each dish that King Felipe, Princess Leonor, Infanta Sofia, the King’s mother, Doña Sofia and Letizia herself will taste.
Paloma Rocasolano, Queen Letizia’s mother, will also join the Christmas Eve celebration at the Zarzuela.

Gone are the great celebrations that King Juan Carlos used to make on these dates, now the regent monarchs aim at the intimacy and sobriety of the festivities.
For the Christmas Eve menu, the queen will leave a little bit of her rigorous diet and the table will enjoy turkey stuffed with vegetables, seafood pudding, Iberian ham, foie gras and smoked salmon.
As for desserts, the table will not lack fruit or coffee-flavored ice cream, as it is Paloma Rocasolano’s favorite.
Everything will be ready before 7:00 p.m., the time when the Palace staff goes to their respective homes, with the exception of those in charge of the royal family’s security.
It is possible that, for this year, the seats at the table will be multiplied and the royal family will receive one or another friend, something that, in previous years and due to the pandemic, could not be done.
