On Saturday, October 26, the Spanish royal family headed to Sotres, in the council of Cabrales, for the traditional visit to the Exemplary Village of Asturias, a distinction awarded each year as part of the Princess of Asturias Awards.
After the awards gala held the night before at the Campoamor Theater, Princess Leonor, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia and the Infanta Sofia arrived with enthusiasm at this small village, located in the heart of the Picos de Europa, which this year was recognized for its dedication to preserving traditions and its commitment to a sustainable economy.
Spanish Royal Family Visits the Exemplary Village Sotres
With less than 100 inhabitants, Sotres received the royal family with a warm welcome. The King and Queen and their daughters toured the village amidst greetings and photographs, showing themselves close and attentive to every explanation the locals shared about the history and culture of the place.
The visit was marked by the welcoming atmosphere and the joy of the inhabitants, who celebrated the recognition of their village by the Princess of Asturias Foundation.
For this occasion, the royal family opted for casual and comfortable attire, ideal for the walk through the cobblestone streets and the cool climate of the area.
Sofia and Leonor’s style in Sotres
Princess Leonor, true to her youthful style, combined a black knitted sweater with straight-cut jeans and thick-soled boots. To protect herself from the cold, she added an oversized checkered jacket in gray and blue tones, completing a casual and functional look.
For her part, the Infanta Sofia wore a similar style to her sister, with dark jeans, rain boots, a navy blue sweater and a beige jacket, opting to wear her hair loose, while Leonor wore it in a ponytail.
Queen Letizia’s style
Queen Letizia also chose a comfortable and simple outfit, which included black straight-cut pants, a white sweater and a Vichy plaid coat that her daughter Leonor had already worn in 2020, demonstrating the closeness in their style.
King Felipe VI, for his part, completed the family image with his own informal style, aligning himself with the warmth and closeness of the event.
