According to an insider, Meghan Markle is reportedly unhappy with King Charles III. The reason? A recent product launch.
Earlier this year, the wife of Prince Harry, introduced her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, with products such as strawberry jam, raspberry jam and dog cookies.
Meghan has chosen to promote her products by sending samples to influencers and friends in the United States.
Alleged Tension between Meghan Markle and King Charles
An official release date for American Riviera Orchard is unknown at this time, and according to insiders, Meghan’s marketing efforts have recently been overshadowed by King Charles’ unveiling of a new product – Highgrove Royal Estate Honey.
This organic honey, priced at £25 for a 350g jar, is the latest addition to the King’s collection of preserves and savouries, available through the Highgrove Shop, which features items inspired by the King’s interests and his renowned garden.
When the ‘Suits’ series actress first sent out samples of her strawberry jam in April, it curiously boosted sales of Charles’ own Highgrove Organic Strawberry Preserve, which retails for £6.95.
Now, a source revealed, Meghan believes the timing of the King’s honey launch is “not a coincidence.”
Supposedly, this situation has Meghan ready to confront her father-in-law, but Prince Harry advises her to hold back.
“She is trying to establish herself as a lifestyle mogul but now she’s competing with a royal rival,” an insider told New Idea magazine.
Meghan reportedly sees the launch of the King’s honey as a direct competition to her products.
In addition to the honey, King Charles recently introduced a new men’s fragrance, Highgrove Splash, priced at £135.
Apparently, this move also upset the Duchess of Sussex, who had plans to launch her own line of men’s grooming products.
The source added that Meghan is “convinced” the launch of Highgrove’s latest products is a “deliberate attempt to curb her success.”
Since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022, Prince Harry and Meghan have not returned to the UK together. Their ongoing estrangement from the Royal Family continues.
