The birthday of Prince Charles was the reason for Queen Elizabeth II to have a gesture more as a mother than as Queen of England.
The heir to the throne turned 72 years old and the date was not overlooked for the sovereign who celebrated the life of his eldest son.
The queen’s attitude towards Charles has been criticized in the past, with many claiming that he was not raised in a loving environment. For example, when the Queen returned from a six-month tour of the Commonwealth in 1954, she surprisingly greeted her four-year-old son with a pat on the shoulder.
Its dynamic has inevitably been complicated by the fact that the queen is effectively Charles boss and he will one day be her successor.
The tension between Charles and his mother grew when he admitted to having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles during his marriage to Princess Diana. Today those controversies are things of the past.

The birthday of Prince Charles
As the Prince of Wales celebrated his 72nd birthday, the queen’s official social media accounts posted tender photos of the monarch and heir’s past when he was just a baby.
The account @royalfamily also posted an image of Charles laughing with the Queen reflecting how the two have become much closer in recent times.
