A new scandal surrounds the Spanish royal family with the publication of a new book that puts Queen Letizia in a complicated position.
Jaime Peñafiel, renowned expert on the royal family and author of several books on the subject, promises to cause controversy with his new work, in which he will reveal an alleged affair that King Felipe’s wife had with Jaime del Burgo, ex-husband of Telma Ortiz.

In his book entitled “Letizia y yo” (Letizia and I), the author deals with various aspects of the life of the current consort of Spain, including the aforementioned romance with her ex-brother-in-law.
According to Peñafiel, Jaime Burgos was deeply in love with Queen Letizia and even claims that he tried to marry her before he married Telma Ortiz.
According to the journalist, the friendship between the two began in Venice in 2000. Although they went through different stages, the relationship would have ended because Letizia decided to make it so.
“He tried to ask her to marry him during a meeting they had, he was wearing the engagement ring, but she confessed that she had fallen in love with someone else. She did not say who,” explains Jaime Peñafiel.
Months later, the engagement of the then Prince Felipe and Letizia was announced.
However, this news did not cause Jaime del Burgo to completely distance himself from Letizia. In fact, he became an advisor to the Queen.
Shortly thereafter, a friendly relationship developed between Jaime del Burgo and Telma Ortiz.
Peñafiel claims that Burgos has proof of this relationship, but he keeps it in a bank safe with precise instructions on what to do with it should anything happen to him.

Peñafiel is a staunch critic of Queen Letizia, accusing her of being responsible for the separation of the royal family.
The 91-year-old writer is a staunch defender of King Juan Carlos I and is convinced that Queen Letizia is the one who has divided the family and is preventing the return of the retired king.
