The weekend was busier than usual for the Infanta Cristina. The daughter of the emeritus kings returned to Barcelona where she shared with some friends and her son Pablo, and also attended a handball match of the athlete’s team.
The Infanta Cristina has marked Barcelona very strongly on her map and since her separation, the Infanta now frequently travels to this Spanish city.
What is Infanta Cristina doing in Barcelona?
Another reason for the Infanta’s travels is due to her work as director of the International Area of La Caixa, this work forces her to travel constantly to the Catalan capital.
This city has witnessed great changes in the life of the daughter of King Juan Carlos. Less than a year ago, she attended her son’s first handball matches there with her -still- husband Iñaki Urdangarin and where Iñaki had his residence while serving his grade 3. Without knowing that this same city -where her life was beginning to settle in- after the legal benefits of her husband’s conviction, would be where he would meet another woman and whose relationship would put an end to 24 years of marriage.
Now separated, the two are trying to keep things calm for the sake of their four children. She now travels more frequently to Barcelona and according to sources close to the Infanta:
“This shows that the love for handball is not only Iñaki’s thing, that she is also involved in Pablo’s career.”
She arrived in the city on Friday with her daughter Irene, who is on Easter vacation and will not return to school until April 25. The Infanta attended the match where the Barça team won 37 over 34 against Club Cisne Colegio Los Sauces.
