A new problem could face the Spanish royal family with the premiere of the documentary ‘Juan Carlos: The Downfall of the King’, which will focus on the life of the Spanish monarch who after enjoying great popularity was relegated to living outside his country due to his multiple scandals.
The series-style documentary is produced by Sky and NBC Universal Global Distribution and features the participation of Corinna Larsen, the king’s mistress, who gives first-rate testimonials, other personalities also give an exhaustive review of King Juan Carlos’ fall from grace.
Trailer of the King Juan Carlos documentary
The creators of the documentary released the first trailer of the production. “King Juan Carlos has hastily left the country”. That is the first sentence that can be heard in the trailer of the series. Then images appear to recall his proclamation as monarch together with Queen Sofia and testimonies about him begin.
Among the people who appear in the ex-commissioner José Manuel Villarejo, who assures that the information that Corinna Larsen possesses can “crack the Spanish State”.
There is also the journalist and specialist in royalty, Jaime Peñafiel, Mario Conde, and obviously Larsen, who again takes this opportunity to attack the former king. In the preview of the series, photographs of the emeritus monarch with Corinna never seen before can be seen, while the series describes the relationship between the two as “a toxic love affair”.
The series posed in the style of ‘House of Cards’, also exposes “the controversial question” of why the emeritus “transferred 65 million euros to Corinna’s account shortly before the end of his reign”.
