On July 13, 2024, Donald Trump suffered an assassination attempt during one of his campaign rallies in Pennsylvania.
During the rally, Donald Trump was evacuated with blood visible in his ear after at least 12 gunshots were heard.
Gunman’s Royal Searches Before Trump Attack
Now, a week after the attack, it has been revealed that the man who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump reportedly conducted Internet searches on a member of the British royal family days before committing the attack.
Details emerged from a briefing with US Congress members, where the FBI disclosed that 20-year-old Thomas Crooks had searched for a royal figure on Google.
The FBI, investigating his digital footprint, also found searches related to FBI Director Christopher Wray and US Attorney General Merrick Garland.
The US Secret Service, responsible for safeguarding political leaders and visiting dignitaries, faced scrutiny after Crooks managed to open fire at a Trump rally, resulting in casualties.
One person was killed, two others critically injured, and Trump himself sustained a minor injury to the ear. Crooks was subsequently killed by Secret Service agents.
Witnesses at the event claimed they alerted security beforehand, noticing Crooks climbing onto a roof and carrying a firearm.
FBI agents have been working to determine a motive for the attack by analyzing data from Crooks’ two mobile phones since the incident.
During the briefing, it was mentioned that Crooks had been turned away from the venue after triggering a metal detector at the entrance.
Recalling the aftermath, Trump supporter Saurabh Sharma described the subdued atmosphere among the audience, with some visibly upset and in disbelief over the attempted assassination.
