The Spanish Royal Household has published a set of unpublished photographs of the life of Princess Leonor on the occasion of her coming of age.
The heiress to the throne turns 18 next October 31 and the institution wanted to celebrate this milestone with some endearing portraits that show her growth.
Leonor of Spain’s 18th Birthday
Leonor de Borbón will celebrate her eighteenth birthday with an intimate gathering at the Palace of El Pardo, which will be attended by her closest family.
It is expected the presence of her grandparents the emeritus kings Juan Carlos I and Sofia, as well as other members of royalty such as her aunts the infantas Elena and Cristina with their respective families.
It will be a private evening, without the lavishness typical of this type of celebration for royal heirs in other European houses.
A discreet event that corresponds to the more austere profile of the young princess of Asturias.
The celebration will take place on November 1, as Leonor will take the oath of allegiance to the Constitution before the Cortes Generales, in a joint session of the Congress and the Senate on her birthday.
After the oath, she will receive from the hands of her father the Collar of the Order of Carlos III. He will then deliver a speech and there will be a reception at the Royal Palace.
The Royal Household releases unpublished photos of Princess Leonor
The snapshots just released by Casa Real show a smiling and spontaneous Leonor, from her kindergarten years to the present day.
She is seen enjoying family vacations, at institutional events, or sharing fun moments with her parents and younger sister, Infanta Sofia.
They are photographs that convey closeness and allow us to see the evolution of the heiress, who has gone from being a blonde and giggly child to a young woman committed to her future role as Queen of Spain.
