Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, 42, is staying active during her cancer treatment.
Princess has been keeping a low profile since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March.
Update on Kate Middleton’s Recovery
Kate is undergoing chemotherapy but has recently been seen out with her family and running errands alone, according to sources.
Buckingham Palace has received “tens of thousands” of supportive letters and gifts for Kate, as reported by the Daily Mail.
New Report on Early Childhood Initiative
On May 20, a new report was published by the Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood.
This report is part of Princess Kate’s work to encourage businesses to support parents and their children, emphasizing the importance of the first five years of a child’s life.
Even though Kate has been kept updated on the project’s progress, this announcement does not mean she is returning to work.
She will not resume her duties until her doctors give her the all-clear, according to palace sources.
Positive Update from Prince William
During a visit to a hospital on the Isles of Scilly on May 10, Prince William gave a positive update on Kate’s condition. When hospital administrator Tracy Smith asked how Princess Kate was doing, Prince William replied, “She’s doing well, thank you.”
He also mentioned that their children were jealous they couldn’t join him on the trip, as the family often visits the islands during summer.
Focus on Recovery
In her health announcement, Princess Kate said she “must focus on making a full recovery.” However, she might participate in events when she feels able.
Ailsa Anderson, a former spokeswoman for Queen Elizabeth, told People, “She has the inner strength, the support of her husband and her extraordinary family, so she can focus on what’s important, which is her getting back to strength.”
Those close to Kate are optimistic about her return.
A former palace aide said, “[The royal family] is vulnerable at the moment, and there will be an even greater appreciation that they are human beings with frailties like the rest of us. They are so dedicated to their roles. I think you will find when Kate makes a full recovery, she will come back even more passionate.”
Family Time
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the three children of Kate and William, are currently on a school break until June 3.
The couple usually takes time off from their royal duties during school vacations to spend with their children.
This year, Kate is already out of the public eye, and William has postponed most of his outings until after the U.K.’s general election on July 4.
On May 25, 10-year-old George joined his father at the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United at Wembley Stadium in London.
