A tradition of all members of the Spanish royal family has been broken. In the past, vacations in Palma de Mallorca gave away images of all the children and grandchildren of the emeritus kings Juan Carlos and Sofia but today the story has changed.
Since the controversies of Iñaki Urdangarin with the Nóos case and the various scandals of King Juan Carlos I came to light, this family tradition was broken, to the point that the Infantas Elena and Cristina have summered at the palace of Marivent with their children but are not going to meet with King Felipe VI or Queen Letizia or their daughters Leonor and Sofia.
Vacations of the Spanish royal family
The portal ‘Vanitatis’, has revealed that the infantas Cristina and Elena arrived last July 23rd to Mallorca and met with Queen Sofia who was already on the island with her sister, Princess Irene.
The daughters of the King Emeritus have traveled to Mallorca with some of their children. Specifically, on the part of the Marichalar family, Victoria Federica and Froilán, and on the part of the Urdangarin family, Pablo and Miguel.
Both families, accompanied by Queen Emeritus Sofia and her sister Irene, have done all kinds of activities together, such as sailing, lunch and dinner. Most probably they have remembered the old times when the whole family used to get together in summer.
The aforementioned website assures that Victoria Federica, Froilán, Pablo and Miguel do not plan to coincide with their cousins, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, who will arrive on the island this weekend with their parents.
In the past are the summer photos where all the grandchildren of the emeritus kings coincided. There is no doubt that after the controversies and the family fracture, the meetings between the cousins are more complicated.
