Victoria Federica de Marichalar y Borbón, at only 23 years old, has been in the spotlight not only as the granddaughter and niece of kings, but also as a promising influencer in the fashion world.

Fifth in the line of succession to the Spanish throne, Victoria Federica has taken a career path clearly away from the royal family.

Known in her close circle as Vic, she is passionate about fashion. On several occasions, she has stated that her career in this field is just beginning.

After a busy summer full of social engagements, Felipe Juan Froilán’s sister, 26, has taken a break to give an exclusive interview to Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

In the feature, which pays tribute to the iconic images that transformed fashion, Victoria opens up about her family, highlighting her maternal grandfather, King Emeritus Juan Carlos I, and her parents, Infanta Elena and Jaime de Marichalar.

Since going public with her Instagram account in 2021, Victoria has been in the media spotlight.

She admits that facing criticism was part of the process: “There will always be someone who wants to talk about you and not everything is going to be good. You have to look at it normally and tolerate everything that comes with respect,” she says.

For her, this decision represented a form of maturity and professional stability, offering her a new platform to express herself and develop her career.

Although the world of social media has not been completely new to her, given that her life has always been closely watched, Victoria feels comfortable with the attention she receives.

“I was born into a wonderful family that has accustomed me to having photographers at my every move,” she says with a mixture of resignation and familiarity.

Her relationship with her family is a subject dear to Victoria’s heart. She speaks with special admiration of her grandfather:

“My grandfather is a wonderful and fundamental person in my life. I have learned a lot from his dedication to others, his joy and affection. I am proud of what he has represented in the history of Spain”, she expresses with affection.

Her mother, Infanta Elena, also has a prominent place in her heart.

“My mother is very important to me. I have been able to see up close her dedication as Infanta and, above all, our relationship as mother and daughter is special,” she says.

As for her father, Jaime de Marichalar, who works for the French group LVMH, Victoria describes him as a great influence on her fashion career.

“He always stresses to me the value of commitment and to try my best. It’s lucky to have him around,” she shares.

Despite the potential controversy that can arise from being a member of the Royal Family being so active on social media, Victoria is not afraid of critics. Instead, she values professional help when she needs it and considers that “asking for help is for the brave.”
