What seemed to be the return to normality of the British royal family after the hard months they have faced due to the cancer of King Charles and Princess Kate now adds a new health problem: that of Princess Anne.

The 73-year-old sister of King Charles had to be hospitalized after suffering a minor accident at her country home, which caused a concussion.

    What happened to Princess Anne?

Princess Anne, the only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II, experienced a minor mishap last Sunday, June 23, while staying at her country home in Gatcombe Park.

She suffered minor head injuries, which required the prompt attention of the emergency services who assisted her at the scene and later transferred her to the hospital for further evaluation.

At the time of the incident, she was accompanied by her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, and her children, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, who were present at the property. Sir Timothy did not leave her side and accompanied her during the transfer to the hospital.

Although specific details about the cause of the injuries have not been made public, there is speculation that they may have resulted from an accidental impact with a horse.

An official statement issued on Monday, June 24, reported that Princess Anne had suffered minor injuries and a concussion, but was being kept in Bristol’s Southmead Hospital as a precautionary measure and under observation, with a full and speedy recovery anticipated.

King Charles, her brother, has been briefed in detail on her condition and, along with the rest of the royal family, has sent his best wishes for a speedy recovery for the princess.

This incident comes shortly after Princess Anne demonstrated her equestrian prowess at the Trooping the Colour event on June 15, where she rode alongside her brother, Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and her nephew, Prince William.
