Princess Leonor faces a crucial month in her preparation as heir to the throne.
In addition to taking the oath of allegiance to the flag and the Constitution on her 18th birthday, the Princess is adjusting to her new life as a cadet at the Military Academy of Zaragoza.
After a successful stay in Wales, Leonor demonstrates her ability to integrate into this new environment.
What is Princess Leonor’s life like at the Military Academy?
According to the Spanish portal El Pais, sources at the Academy have revealed some new details about the new life of Lady Cadet Borbon Ortiz.
One of these little known details is that Leonor has chosen to study French to perfect it, as she has a perfect command of English.
One of the subjects she is best at is cartography, but physical activities are more difficult for her.
The commanders emphasize the ease with which the princess has integrated and her naturalness in dealing with her colleagues.
Her time in Wales has made her accustomed to sharing a room and taking care of her belongings. Although she is the daughter of royalty, it is said that she is not a “daddy’s girl”.
Her next public appearance will be the flag swearing-in ceremony on October 7.
There is speculation that King Felipe VI may address her, as Juan Carlos I did with him as heir.
In the coming weeks, Leonor will also attend her first parade since becoming a Cadet Lady, on October 12, although she will do so from the stands, as it has been ruled out for security reasons that she will parade with the Armed Forces.
During these first weeks, the Royal House has distributed pictures of Leonor at the Academy to avoid media speculation and the market for unauthorized photos of the Princess as a cadet.
