What’s going on with Kate Middleton? is the question asked by users on social media under the hashtag #KateGate.

In social media the same questions are repeated: What is happening with Kate Middleton, is the British royal family hiding the truth about her health, why the prolonged absence from public life, why Kate edited her Mother’s Day photo with so many mistakes, Why did Kensington Palace refuse to send the original photo?

    Kate Middleton’s mystery

For many, the secrecy surrounding what is happening at Kensington Palace has generated distrust.

It is no secret that one of the traits that Kate’s fans like the most is her genuine smile, her authentic personality and her closeness to people. On the internet, they claim that those qualities are missing today.

Users emphasize the strange absence of Kate and the lack of images since she left the hospital, which clashes abysmally with the communicative attitude that the Prince and Princess of Wales have maintained.

The last day Kate Middleton was seen at Christmas, at Sandringham, with all her family. In the photos and videos, there was no sign of discomfort.

Internet users emphasize how young Kate is young, she is only 42 years old, she has always kept fit and is a lover of various sports; no one imagined that she had any health problems.

    Kate Middleton’s conspiracy theories

One of the many theories circulating on the internet is that her absence is due to a mental breakdown and subsequent depression. The reason that resonates the most online is due to an alleged infidelity of Prince William with Rose Hanbury.

Online users do not understand Kate’s prolonged absence and compare it to the King’s illness.

They know that Charles III suffers from cancer and is undergoing treatment and understand his absence.

In social media it can be read that many understand that recovery from an abdominal operation is a long, delicate, hard process and that two months of sick leave away from her royal duties would be normal, but what they do not understand is that there is no audiovisual display to show that the most popular and beloved princess is well.

Many users have pulled out one of the mottos of the late Queen Elizabeth II: “I have to be seen to be believed.”

They highlight that no one saw Kate enter or leave the hospital, the opposite case to Charles III who walked out with his wife Queen Camilla.

She has had audiences with the Prime Minister and has gone on video thanking everyone for the messages received.

Another observation made by Internet users is the day that William canceled at the last minute his funeral attendance of his godfather Constantine for a personal reason, then it was announced that Kate would reappear June 8 at the Trooping the Colour, but in less than 24 hours the absence of the princess was confirmed.

Fanatics and non-fans of the royal family expect audio-visual evidence of Kate Middleton and not a photo with her face turned around like the one recently published by all the British media.

Some users also find it suspicious that the British press respected Kate’s “privacy” and did not publish the photo where the princess is seen with her mother in a car, but they do publish a photo where her face is not seen.

Regarding the controversial photo edited by Kate Middleton and that ended up fueling more rumors about her health.

The internet highlights Kate’s great love for photography and that when she was William’s girlfriend she took classes on the art of photography with Mario Testino, Diana of Wales’ favorite photographer, so many assume that a person who knows about photos has basic notions of editing.

Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C

Nor do they understand that even if it was Kate’s fault, in such a sensitive moment for her, William did not share the responsibility with his wife. For many, this is where the “divorce” theory comes in and that “Kate is asking for help.”

The only way out of these and other more far-fetched theories is to tell the truth and release a video.

Kensington Palace no longer a trusted source

The credibility of the Prince and Princess of Wales is at stake with this “communication disaster” and it is already beginning to take its toll.

For Phil Chetwynd, global news director for Agence France-Press (AFP), Kensington Palace “can no longer be trusted.”

In an interview on BBC Radio 4’s The Media Show, asked if the Palace was “a trusted source,” he replied, “No, absolutely not. Like with anything, when you’re let down by a source the bar is raised.”
