In September 2025, Sofia began her university studies at Forward College in Lisbon, where she is studying Political Science and International Relations. It’s the first year of a three-year program that will take her to Paris and eventually Berlin.
The last day of classes on the Lisbon campus will be June 5th, and after that, she will head straight to Palma de Mallorca for the summer holidays with the rest of the Royal Family.

But before reaching that point, Sofia has had to adhere to a rather demanding schedule, which includes intensive classes, weeks of reading, and days off for holidays or unforeseen events.
The course officially began on September 22, 2025, following a two-week introductory period. Since then, she has had Reading Week in October, with another scheduled for February. She also had Christmas vacation from December 19th to January 11th, and will have spring break from April 3rd to 12th.

The third quarter will begin on April 20 and conclude in early June. It’s a fast-paced schedule, but it’s designed to allow students to absorb dense content without feeling overwhelmed. Forward College is not exactly a walk in the park.
The program you are pursuing is ambitious. It encompasses not only Political Science but also Philosophy, History, and Business Studies, with a focus on developing practical skills for addressing global issues.

The university prides itself on its students graduating with advanced skills in academic writing, debate, and oral expression, all designed to prepare them for high-level careers in both the public and private sectors. In fact, students who have attended have completed internships at companies such as L’Oréal, Amazon, OECD, PwC, and BNP Paribas.
The goal is to prepare them to navigate any international scenario without getting lost in theory.

We probably didn’t expect Sofia to also be learning to use artificial intelligence as part of the program.
Forward College integrates AI from day one, providing access to tools like GPT-5 and OpenAI’s Claude through its AI Hub. They aren’t playing with chatbots for fun; they’re learning to use them ethically and efficiently in their academic projects.

This detail speaks volumes about the type of training she is receiving, which is far more practical and up-to-date than what many traditional universities offer.
By the end of June, Sofia will have completed an intense year in Lisbon and will have a summer in Mallorca ahead of her before considering Paris.
