July 15 is the date to keep in mind. On that day, at the San Javier Air Academy in Murcia, King Felipe will present the Royal Commissions to the new lieutenants, including his daughter Leonor, thereby concluding three years of military training.
Before that, the princess has to sit her final exams from June 1 to June 12, followed by training days through June 26. It’s a busy schedule with no room for distractions, and there’s an interesting twist: on June 6, Pope Leo XIV will arrive in Spain on a state visit, right in the middle of the Crown Princess’s exam period.

The ceremony on July 15 could feature a very special moment. Last year, the event concluded with a military parade and a flyover by Pilatus PC-21 aircraft. This year, since Leonor made her first solo flight in December 2025, there is a possibility that she could be the one to pilot one of those aircraft. It hasn’t been confirmed, but it would be a historic moment.
Both Queen Letizia and Infanta Sofía are expected to attend the graduation ceremony.

It is worth recalling the journey that led up to this date. In August 2023, Leonor entered the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, then attended the Naval Military School of Marín, and in January 2025, she embarked on the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano for five months in the Americas, along with 75 other midshipmen.
During her second semester in San Javier, Leonor studied courses such as Aerospace Sciences, Air Traffic Management, and Flight Testing, and completed a Final Training Project recognized as a master’s degree. This is not a symbolic training program.

After graduating, Princess Leonor will first spend a vacation in Mallorca with her family, and then the big question will be answered in May, when the Royal Household will announce which university and which degree program she will study starting in September.
Everything points to a field related to Law and International Relations, following in the footsteps of her father, who studied at the Autonomous University of Madrid and then completed a master’s degree at Georgetown.

As an additional touch, a €60 commemorative coin will be issued in her honor in the coming months to mark the end of her military training. A €40 coin was already issued in 2023 to mark her swearing-in, so this would be the second time that Leonor appears on an official coin.
