If Meghan Markle had planned a way to get attention during Trooping the Colour, it wouldn’t have worked out so well for her, but Netflix has helped her out. The streaming giant will include in its catalog the series that launched Prince Harry’s wife to stardom: ‘Suits.’
In her own way, the Duchess of Sussex could steal the limelight from the British monarchy on one of the most anticipated days for the official celebration of King Charles III’s birthday.
Although 74-year-old King Charles was born on November 14, it is customary in the British royal family for the king or queen to commemorate his or her birthday in June.
This tradition of Trooping the Colour began during the reign of King Charles II, who ruled from 1660 to 1685.
During the last Trooping the Colour celebration, Queen Elizabeth used it as part of her Platinum Jubilee commemorations for completing 70 years on the throne.
When does Suits come to Netflix?
Although Meghan continues to keep a low profile, streaming giant Netflix announced that ‘Suits’, the series starring the Duchess, will hit the platform’s catalog on the same day as Trooping the Colour, this Saturday, June 17.
Through its Twitter account, Netflix made the announcement. “Suits – The Complete Series is coming to Netflix (in The US) on June 17,” the message reads.

Although Meghan and co-star Patrick J. Adams left the series after season 7, Suits ended with a ninth and final season in 2019.
The Duchess of Sussex, starred in the legal drama with her character of Rachel Zane, a role she played from 2011 until 2018 when she quit due to her engagement to Prince Harry.
The premiere of “Suits” comes months after the release of the documentary on Netflix about the couple’s life, which generated controversy.
After reaching a big-money deal with the platform, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to release new content soon.
