Infanta Sofia has just embarked on a new phase that combines university life with an increased institutional presence.
Just a few weeks ago, she began her degree in Political Science and International Relations at Forward College, initially based in Lisbon. Although everything suggested she would maintain the low profile of her high school years in Wales, the reality is different, Sofia is starting to gain her own visibility within the official agenda.

October 12 will be a key date. The youngest daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia will once again attend Hispanic Day, an event she has been absent from in recent years.
This time, in addition to joining her parents and Princess Leonor in the parade grandstand, she will also attend the reception at the Royal Palace, a first for her.

This decision confirms the Royal Household’s intention to give her greater prominence, right after she turns 18.
The month of October will not end there for Sofia. After the national celebration, she will return to Spain to accompany her sister at the Princess of Asturias Awards. She will be seen in Oviedo, as she is every year, reinforcing her role in supporting Leonor during the heiress’s most symbolic days.

Sofia’s consistent presence at her sister’s major event speaks volumes about the bond between the two and the role the younger sister is beginning to take on.
Furthermore, all indications suggest that she will end the year with a new solo challenge: the presentation of the photography contest named after her, “Objetivo Patrimonio.” She already did it last year, marking a first step towards her institutional independence, and she will repeat it in this edition.

Sofia is gradually charting a different path from Leonor’s, striking a balance between international academic life and her commitment to the Crown.
