Irene Urdangarin, 17, the daughter of Infanta Cristina and Iñaki Urdangarin, plans to pursue university studies in Switzerland in the area of hospitality business management and administration.
Several weeks ago it was speculated that the youngest daughter of Iñaki and Cristina wanted to make her way as an influencer on Instagram and lead a life similar to that of her cousin Victoria Federica. Still, the young woman’s plans have changed drastically.
Where will Irene Urdangarin study?
According to the Catalan portal El Nacional, Irene will study at the École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), the most prestigious university in the world in terms of hospitality management.
The École Hôtelière de Lausanne is a business school specializing in hospitality business management and administration. It is considered the best hotel management school in the world and is very selective in its choice of students.
How much will Irene Urdangarin’s university degree cost?
The career consists of four courses, so the outlay that the infanta Cristina will have to make will be 140,000 euros, about 150 thousand U.S. dollars for the total of her studies. That is, as long as Irene Urdangarin continues to live with her mother in Geneva, the cost would be much higher if she decides to move to the university campus.
The price to study at this educational center is about 35,000 euros ($37,500) per course.
Irene Urdangarin is about to come of age in June. She will continue to reside in Switzerland for the next four years, where she has lived with her mother since she was seven years old.
From Lausanne to Geneva, where Irene lives with her mother, there is barely half an hour’s drive by freeway. She can also travel by train for 17 euros (just over $18) each way and get there in 35 minutes.
If Irene wants to focus on hospitality business management, she may have to get up to speed on social media, digital communication, and corporate strategies.
