This November 28th a book that promises to shake the foundations of Buckingham Palace went on sale and that already ensures that Kate Middleton and members of the Royal House of the United Kingdom will hate it.
It is the controversial book ‘Endgame’, by the writer Omid Scobie, which aims to reveal the current state of the British monarchy by leaking the most uncomfortable secrets.
The publication not only addresses the “irreparable differences” between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William. It also portrays the irreconcilable differences between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton among other family issues.
Who is Omid Scobie?
Omid Scobie, 42, is a British journalist specializing in royalty and entertainment. He has worked as a royal correspondent and has covered major events related to the British royal family, especially the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Scobie is also the royal editor at Harper’s Bazaar magazine and has served as an expert on television programs.
In terms of written books, he is co-author with Carolyn Durand of the book “Finding Freedom” (2020). An “unauthorized” biography about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle detailing why they decided to abandon royal duties and move to the United States.
About this book, it was later learned that it had the participation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who offered first-hand information.
Omid has many detractors and has been described by royal expert Tom Bower as an “incorrigible rascal”.
Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival
Scobie’s account starts with the death of Queen Elizabeth II, which the author says “ruptured the already-fractured foundations of the House of Windsor and dismantled the protective shield around it.”
Evidently, this bombshell book responds to a critical stance on the monarchy and its customs, seen as an institution, as well as the characters who represent it.
As an appetizer for what is to come, the author states: “This is the monarchy’s endgame. Do they have what it takes to save it?”
Why won’t Kate Middleton like Endgame?
Kate Middleton will most likely object to the upcoming book “Endgame” by Omid Scobie, as she believes it spreads inaccurate information that could damage her reputation.
While the book promises an inside look at the British royal family, Kate may find some claims to be exaggerated or present her in an unflattering light.
Scobie’s assertion that Kate struggles to keep the monarchy alive in the UK could make it appear that she is not enjoying being the Princess of Wales and future queen.
In addition, it questions the importance of Kate’s achievements claiming that they are exaggerated, this could undermine her years of work in charitable causes.
Finally, the book claims that Kate aims to emulate Queen Elizabeth II. This could be interpreted as Kate being inauthentic.
With the popularity and influence Kate currently enjoys, the distortions in this book could negatively affect public perception.
As a future Queen Consort, Kate has reasonable grounds to object to publications that she feels misrepresent her character and royal duties.
