Prince Harry has lashed out at the UK government amid controversy engulfing the royal family over the scandal of recent news about prince Andrew’s trial in the US and the loss of his titles. Now Elizabeth II’s grandson has issued a blunt threat.
Princess Diana‘s son warned that he will go to court if he and his family members; Meghan Markle and her children Archie and Lilibet are not guaranteed safety in the UK.
This refusal to receive security backing from the British Government would be one of the reasons why neither he nor his family has returned to England.
Prince Harry Backlash
The Duke of Sussex decided to take legal action against the British government for having eliminated his personal security.
Prince Harry’s lawyers decided to release a statement saying Harry made the security request last September without a response. They have explained that neither he nor Meghan can “return home”, nor the children “know their country of origin”, because they pose too “great a personal risk”.
The Duke of Sussex says he is willing to pay for his safety but alleges that “others who have left public office and have an inherent threat risk receive police protection at no cost to them.”
It should be noted that during his visit to England for the inauguration of the statue of Princess Diana, on what would have been his 60th birthday, Harry experienced in his own flesh a security flaw. A group of paparazzi followed the vehicle in which he was moving. However, for the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh, he did count on security.
As long as Harry does not receive protection from the state, neither he, nor Meghan, Archie and Lilibet will travel to London.
