Within the walls of Britain’s royal palaces, King Charles III and Queen Camilla maintain strict rules about what is and isn’t allowed.
Former royal cleaner Anne Simmons, who worked for more than a decade in royal residences, revealed that certain everyday products are strictly forbidden.
What are the products banned by King Charles?
Wet wipes, despite their “disposable” label, have been banned for years.
Their use caused ongoing problems in the plumbing system, already weakened by the passage of time, forcing costly repairs on a frequent basis.
Simmons explained that the decision to ban them was made after finding that they did not break down like toilet paper, which caused persistent clogs.
This measure not only prevented damage, but also helped reduce maintenance costs. But wipes are not the only item on the blacklist.
Scented candles are also banned, due to the compounds they release into the air, which could alter environmental quality levels in spaces such as Buckingham Palace, where everything is precisely controlled.
These decisions, while seemingly domestic, reflect the discipline with which monarchs manage their environment.
