Rumors are swirling that King Charles might soon be flying to America to see his son, Prince Harry, and his family.
However, it seems not everyone in the royal circle is thrilled with the idea, including Prince William and Queen Camilla.
Will King Charles Visit Prince Harry in the US?
Royal expert Tom Quinn has shared that Charles is eager to play the role of a doting grandfather to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
This means he would need to visit the Sussexes in their Montecito home. According to New Idea, there’s a window in the King’s schedule next month that could accommodate such a trip.
But Harry might be reluctant to bring his kids back to the UK, with Quinn previously noting that Meghan Markle is unlikely to return to British soil. The Mirror has reported on these developments as well.
Quinn now says that plans are in the works for a “private visit” by the King to the US.
He mentioned, “He is desperate to see them and hates the idea that Archie and Lilibet will not remember him as the warm, friendly grandfather he wants to be.”
A source from New Idea also highlights that the King’s health is on the mend after his cancer diagnosis, which could make a family reconciliation possible.
They explained, “This feud has gone on for far too long, and Charles is anxious to sort it out. But he knows it has to happen on Harry and Meghan’s home turf if he wants to see his grandchildren.”
The magazine suggests that Harry would welcome his father’s visit to Montecito. Yet, Queen Camilla and William have reservations, especially considering the King’s health. His recent New Zealand tour was cut short due to his condition.
A New Idea source shared, “William can’t understand why Charles would make such a move. Camilla is worried about the strain on his health. The upcoming Australia tour in October is already a lot for a man his age with cancer, not to mention an emotional journey to visit his estranged son.”
