A brief moment of unity between Prince William and Prince Harry, captured during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, has resurfaced and gone viral on social media.
The footage of the estranged brothers walking together was widely shared after they reportedly missed another chance to reconcile at a recent family event.
William and Harry’s Breakup
The Duke of Sussex and the Prince of Wales, who have been publicly at odds for several years, both attended the memorial service for Sir Robert Fellowes, their uncle, in Snettisham, Norfolk.
The event, which took place last week, seemed like an opportunity for the brothers to bridge their differences, but reports suggest they did not speak to each other.
Despite the family connection, William and Harry reportedly kept their distance.
In response, a royal watcher posted a video on TikTok of William and Harry walking side-by-side during the procession of Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin at Westminster Abbey on September 19, 2022.
The clip quickly gained traction, garnering over 60,900 likes and 524,300 views. The caption read: “The rift between Prince William and Prince Harry appears to be unbridgeable, with William next in line and Harry left on the sidelines.”
The tension between the brothers has been building for years, fueled by revelations from Harry and Meghan Markle.
After Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, there was a moment of hope for reconciliation when William and Harry, along with their wives Princess Kate and Meghan, appeared together to view floral tributes at Windsor Castle on September 10, 2022.
However, any optimism for a renewed relationship soon faded when Harry released his memoir, Spare, and the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan reignited their conflict.
Among the many revelations, Harry described a physical altercation with William, in which he was thrown to the floor falling into the dog bowl during an argument about Meghan.
The memorial service for Sir Robert Fellowes, husband of Princess Diana’s sister Lady Jane Fellowes, was held last Thursday.
Despite the family connection, William and Harry reportedly kept their distance.
Reverend Dan Tansey, who led the service at St. Mary’s Church, expressed surprise at the brothers’ attendance but noticed that while they both thanked him for the service, they did not interact with each other.
Reports in the British press, including The Sun, also suggest that the brothers did not speak during the memorial.
@paullee3012The rift between Prince William and Prince Harry appears to be unbridgeable, Prince William, is next in line, leaving his brother Harry on the sidelines. Despite being close during their childhood and teenage years, the looming pressure of the expectations of the crown has driven a wedge between the brothers. When one steps up, the other must step back.♬ som original – 𝙃𝙋 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘 🎵
