A recent video of Prince William and Princess Kate during a reception for the Emir of Qatar has generated a remarkable reaction.
Throughout the year, Kate’s presence at royal family events had been lacking. However, after announcing that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment in September, she has gradually begun to regain her prominent role in the British royals.
On December 3, the Princess of Wales accompanied Prince William at the reception for the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani.
On this occasion, Kate proved that her 13 years as a member of the royal family have established her as the “queen of curtsies.”
Kate Middleton’s curtsey to King Charles
One of the most talked about moments was the video where Kate makes an impressive curtsy to King Charles, a gesture that reflects the deep respect expected between royals.
At the welcoming ceremony, Kate performed an impeccable curtsy before taking her position to watch the event unfold.
This type of bow indicates respect for those of higher royal rank. While women curtsy, it is traditional for men to bow their heads.
All members of the royal family, including their children, are required to bow to King Charles and Queen Camilla, and their failure to do so is often interpreted as a sign that they have already bowed to each other during the course of the day.
More than 900 soldiers of the Mounted Guard turned out to welcome the distinguished guests on this state visit. Afterwards, Kate took part in the carriage procession to Buckingham Palace.
Despite her active participation in the reception, the Princess will not attend the State Banquet to be hosted by the King that evening, although Prince William and Queen Camilla will be present.
William and Kate Receive the Emir of Qatar
Another attention-grabbing moment was Kate’s arrival with Sheikha Jawaher, just as the princess was reunited with Prince William.
Prince William, in a protective gesture, briefly placed his hand on Kate’s back and smiled at her, reflecting William’s happiness at having his wife by his side at such an important event.
