Prince William may already be considering stricter measures against his brother Harry and Meghan Markle.
According to sources cited by The Daily Beast, the heir to the throne does not rule out officially stripping them of the use of the titles “His/Her Royal Highness” (HRH) when he becomes king.
William Remove Harry and Meghan’s HRH Titles
Although the couple agreed to stop using these titles when they stepped back from royal life in 2020, they were never formally stripped of them, and that could change in the future.
The tension between the brothers is no secret. According to a palace insider, William believes Harry “has betrayed the family from top to bottom” and that within the Windsor family, “is the ultimate crime.”
While King Charles III currently maintains a softer stance toward the Sussexes, William reportedly has different plans for when he leads the monarchy.
“The gloves will be off when he inherits the throne,” another source stated.
The topic resurfaced after Meghan reposted a message on social media from Ukraine’s Vice President, in which she was referred to as “Your Royal Highness.” Although she did not directly use the title herself, some within the Royal Household saw it as a calculated move.
“It’s quite a clever way of testing the water… she can say, ‘I never gave the title up anyway, and maybe I will start using it again,’” an expert remarked.
