Prince Harry’s recent public birthday greetings have resurfaced old tensions within the British royal family.
The Duke of Sussex celebrated his 40th birthday on Sunday, September 15, and in a surprise twist, the royal family issued congratulatory messages, something that had not happened since 2021.
This year, however, things have changed. Initially, it was the official royal family account that spoke out, and subsequently, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s office also joined in the congratulations.

It should be noted that neither William nor Kate wrote the message personally; in fact, after the congratulations via social media, their initials, “W & C,” did not appear, which usually happens when they are the ones who explicitly issue a message.
This gesture has received mixed reactions, being applauded by some and criticized by others. People close to the future British king have shared their opinions on what this gesture really implies.
Reconciliation between Prince William and Prince Harry?
The British media have speculated about a possible rapprochement between the Royal House and Prince Harry, especially at such a delicate moment as the health of King Charles III and Kate Middleton.
In the midst of these rumors, a close friend of Prince William has shared his perspective regarding the public congratulations to his brother Harry.
According to this insider, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s congratulations do not imply a change in the relationship between the two siblings.
That claim comes from a close associate of the eldest son of King Charles III, who indicated that things remain unchanged between William and Harry.
He affirmed that William has no interest in getting closer to his brother and remarked that, despite the message issued, the Prince of Wales does not contemplate, at this time, a reconciliation with Harry, much less with Meghan.
This friend of the Prince of Wales told The Daily Beast that William considers the contents of his brother’s controversial memoir “unforgivable.”
Understandably, William’s priority lies with his wife and family; his focus is on them and his royal duties. He assured that there is no room or time for a complicated reconciliation with Harry, emphasizing that it is not currently a priority issue for William.
Although Prince Harry’s birthday greeting has raised expectations of a possible rapprochement, the reality seems to be that relations between the two brothers still face deep challenges.
The royal family is at a critical juncture, making any attempt at reconciliation even more difficult.
