Prince William was scheduled to visit the Army Air Corps on Thursday, January 16. However, a last-minute situation forced him to cancel his trip and apologize for not being able to attend.
The son of King Charles has already resumed his 2025 royal duties, after his wife, Kate Middleton, paid a surprise visit to a cancer hospital in London where he was receiving treatment.
Here at RoyalFamily.news, it was reported that after that visit, Kate herself announced that she was in remission.
Now William finds himself under public scrutiny because of this unexpected change of plans.
So, what happened to Prince William’s visit?
According to various media reports, the Prince of Wales intended to meet with the military at a regiment where he fulfills a prestigious royal role.
The Wattisham regiment is about two and a half hours from Windsor, where he lives with Kate and their children: Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9), and Prince Louis (6).
Unfortunately, bad weather forced the postponement of their excursion to the Army Air Corps in Wattisham, Suffolk.
“In a message, Kensington Palace said the poor weather would have ‘significantly restricted the planned program.'”
William planned to arrive by Wildcat helicopter to talk to members of the armed forces about the Corps’ work and to meet crews training at the facility.
However, William was forced to cancel this visit due to the risk of flying in bad weather.
He was expected to spend time with soldiers and their families, discussing the importance of resilience, adaptability, and taking care of mental and physical health.
“The Prince of Wales sends his sincere apologies to those who he had been due to meet and hopes to reschedule his visit at the earliest convenience.”
This would have been his second public appearance in a few days. On January 15, Prince William visited Birmingham to speak to the College of Paramedics and show his support for their patronage.
On the way back to London, he had an unexpected encounter with some fans of the Aston Villa soccer team and shared beers with them at a local pub.
