Mike and Zara Tindall have a beautiful love story. Zara is the daughter of Princess Anne of the United Kingdom and is married to Mike, a former rugby player.
They have three children together: Mia, who was born in 2014, Lena, who was born in 2018, and Lucas Philip Tindall, the newest member of the family, who was born on 21 March 2021 at Gatcombe Park, the grand estate that Queen Elizabeth II gave to her daughter Anne for her wedding to Mark Phillips.
Interestingly, Mike became the first member of the royal family to take part in a celebrity reality show filmed in the Australian jungle. This was in 2022, although he was voted out just before the final. His wife Zara visited him during the show.
In one of the episodes of the reality show in which he took part, Mike talked about his first date with Zara. He said they went out for lunch and he ended up quite drunk, but they found that they both really liked. It was a good start to their relationship.
Who is Zara Tindall’s husband Mike?
Mike and Zara dated for seven years before they got engaged in July 2010. Their wedding took place in July 2011 at the Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence of the Royal Family in the country.
Mike Tindall is best known as the husband of Zara Tindall, but he has had his own successes. According to an interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Zara met Mike because she was introduced to him by her cousin, Prince Harry.
At the time, Mike was drowning his sorrows at the Manly Wharf bar in Sydney, Australia, during the 2003 Rugby World Cup, having just been dropped from the England team just before the semi-finals. From there, their relationship began to blossom.
Despite not being senior members of the Royal Family, Mike and Zara maintain an excellent relationship with them and attend numerous family engagements.
In 2007, Mike was awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire) for his sporting career. He was appointed captain of the England rugby union team in 2011 and retired from professional sport in 2014.
During his career, Tindall broke his nose at least eight times and had to undergo surgery to correct it.
He currently hosts ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Rugby’ podcast alongside James Haskell and Alex Payne and has a close relationship with Cure Parkinsons, a charity dedicated to funding research into Parkinson’s disease in the UK.
Mike also lends his image to numerous organisations and is an ambassador for a number of companies. He is estimated to be worth around $20 million, mainly from property investments and sponsorships with brands.
