Easter Sunday was the day chosen by the members of the British royal family to reappear all together. This was the first time it happened since the death of Queen Elizabeth II last September 8, 2022.
As expected many wondered about Lady Louise Windsor, the young lady was the only member of the royal family who did not attend the religious service in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The other absentees were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Why wasn’t Lady Louise at the Easter service 2023?
Prince Edward and his wife Sophie attended the service for the first time as Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. They did so in the company of their son James, who made his public debut with his new royal title of Earl of Wessex. However, it was striking that Lady Louise, who usually attends these events, was absent.
However, her absence could be due to her obligations with her studies. Although Buckingham Palace has not given any explanation for her absence, it seems that it is due to the exam season at St. Andrew’s University, the same where Prince William and Kate Middleton met.
At the Scottish university, the calendar provides for a week of revision after the holidays before exams begin.
What Lady Louise is studying
The one who was known as the favorite granddaughter of the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth, enrolled in the degree of English philology. Lady Louise began her degree last year just before the death of her grandmother.
Previously, she had worked as a gardener, a further sign of her activism and passion for caring for nature. As revealed by Daily Mail, the eldest daughter of Prince Edward and the Duchess of Edinburgh has been earning around £6.63, just under eight dollar, per hour in this summer job.
Although she was not at the Easter Service, Lady Louise is expected to join the royal family on May 6 to witness the historic coronation of her uncle, Charles III at Westminster Abbey.
