The controversy over the eviction of Prince Andrew took a new turn. The younger brother of King Charles III will be able to rest easy at Royal Lodge, at least for now.
In his attempt to reshape the entire royal family, King Charles had asked Andrew to vacate Royal Lodge.
Royal Lodge is a luxurious property of 30 rooms and valued at US $ 36 million dollars, where the Duke of York has been living for a couple of years with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
Andrew was to vacate the property as soon as possible and move to a smaller one like Frogmore Cottage, the house previously occupied by Meghan and Harry but which was also evicted.
Will Andrew stay at Royal Lodge?
Now, after Sarah Ferguson was diagnosed with breast cancer, the York’s move will have to wait.
According to the British newspaper Express, the couple will be able to stay longer at the residence owned by the Crown Estate.
A source told the Mail on Sunday that plans to move out of Royal Lodge have been “quietly shelved” until she makes a full recovery.
“Plans for Prince Andrew to move out of his home at Royal Lodge and into Frogmore Cottage have reportedly been “quietly shelved” for the time being as his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson recovers from a single mastectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis,” the media outlet wrote.
The Mail on Sunday also reported that Princess Eugenie has practically moved to Royal Lodge to keep an eye on her mother in her recovery process, even though she recently had her second child.
At the moment it is unknown when there will be talk of moving again or if Andrew will definitely get his way and stay at the property.
