Princess Leonor culminated the week with an outstanding closing, marking a milestone on her way to royalty.

The heiress to the Spanish throne was present with her father in a new military ceremony, where she wore for the first time her newly acquired rank of Ensign.

It is important to note that the princess was invested with this new title in a solemn event at the Military Academy of Zaragoza, on July 3.

This prestigious academy has been her home for the past year, becoming a place of great significance for her.

There, Leonor has completed the first of three years of mandatory military training, an essential step in her preparation to assume the throne of Spain.

Leonor de Borbón has demonstrated total commitment to her military responsibilities. At the conclusion of her first military year, on August 30 she will embark on a new challenge at the Naval Academy.

    Princess Leonor’s military uniform details

On a recent visit to the Spanish region of Lleida, King Felipe and Princess Leonor, his heir, showed off their military uniforms, highlighting the subtle differences between the two.

The King, attentive and didactic, took the opportunity to instruct Leonor in the protocols and ceremonies she is destined to preside over.

Wearing the gala uniform of the Army, both royals shared the distinctive military hat and the prestigious Golden Fleece, symbolized by a golden fleece suspended from a red ribbon.

However, the most notable difference was at the waist: Leonor wore the standard sash, while the King, in his capacity as captain general, differentiated himself with a red sash.

Leonor, adorned with the cross of the Order of Civil Merit, contrasted with the monarch’s variety of decorations, which included the Cross of Aeronautical Merit with white badge and the Naval Cross.

These insignia, not yet awarded to the Princess of Asturias, reflect the hierarchy and honors accumulated by the King in his military career.
