While there is speculation about a possible reunion in Mallorca of the entire Spanish royal family, the reality is that some members are enjoying their summer vacations completely separately.
Queen Letizia is enjoying the charms of Mallorca with King Felipe and her daughters, while the Infanta Cristina has chosen idyllic Greece as the first stop on her summer travels, accompanied by her young children Irene, 18, and Miguel, 21.

The destination has a special sentimental value for the family, who recently mourned the loss of King Constantine, beloved grandfather of Cristina’s children and brother of Queen Emeritus Sofia.
After landing in Porto Jeli, on the island of Spetses, Cristina and her children were reunited with their Greek relatives to enjoy a classic summer outing: attending a blockbuster movie under the stars.
Local journalist Andreas Mergos captured the relaxed group leaving a screening of the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Barbie’ at the picturesque Marina cinema overlooking the sea.
“As they left the cinema, the members of the royal family were all smiles and in good spirits, as they seemed to enjoy one of the most beautiful Greek traditions, the island’s seaside summer cinemas,” the journalist highlighted on his Instagram account.
Dressed casually perfect for the setting, Cristina appeared smiling alongside her children, Queen Anne Marie, Princess Alexia, and her family.
The Infanta’s Greek retreat follows the controversy surrounding her impending divorce from former Olympic handball player Iñaki Urdangarin.
While the Royal family enjoys Mallorca, Cristina is focused on providing her children with some family time off in Greece.
It remains to be seen if the Borbons and Urdangarin will cross paths before the summer is over. Only time will tell if speculation about a royal reunion comes to fruition, but for now, both branches of the Spanish royal family seem content in their separate summer oases.
