The Infanta Sofia, daughter of the King and Queen of Spain, is preparing to begin her baccalaureate studies at the UWC Atlantic College, in Wales, at the end of August. But according to information from the Spanish portal Monarquia Cofidencial, before her departure, her closest circle of friends wants to organize a farewell party for her.
Currently, Infanta Sofia is finishing the last year of Compulsory Secondary Education at the Santa Maria de los Rosales school, where she has lived with her classmates for the past few years.
Farewell party for Infanta Sofia of Spain
On her sixteenth birthday, celebrated in La Zarzuela, Sofia was accompanied by a small group of friends from the school, as well as the King and Queen and her grandmothers, Queen Emeritus and Paloma Rocasolano.
According to sources close to La Zarzuela and to the Infanta’s close friends, her circle of friends has decided to organize a farewell party before the summer begins and before she travels to UWC Atlantic College, where she will stay for two years like her sister. This group of Infanta’s most trusted friends wants this farewell party to be simple but memorable.
Since Sofia has shown interest and skills in soccer, her friends do not rule out organizing some activity related to this sport as part of the farewell party, although everything would be done with the knowledge and consent of her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
Infanta Sofia’s Confirmation
The Infanta Sofia will receive her confirmation on May 25 at the parish of Asunción de Nuestra Señora in Aravaca, in the presence of her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, her sister Leonor, her paternal grandmother Sofía and her maternal grandmother Paloma.
It will be one of the last opportunities for Sofia and her friends to be together. The parish where the confirmation will take place does not have enough space to accommodate all the relatives of the students of Colegio Rosales who will star in the event, so they have limited attendance to parents and siblings almost exclusively.
