The devastating fires raging across Los Angeles have brought out the best in many people, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The blazes have destroyed homes and entire communities, leaving dozens of people without a place to live, and sadly, five deaths have been reported.
More than 100,000 residents have had to evacuate due to the fires in Palisades and Eaton.
Not content with just issuing a statement expressing their sadness at the events, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to go further and offer their support to those affected.
What did Harry and Meghan do for the fires in Los Angeles?
The couple is actively working to help the Southern California community in the midst of the wildfires that have broken out since January 7.
Harry and Meghan have opened the doors of their Montecito home to friends and loved ones who were forced to flee, reports People magazine.
Although they live about 90 miles from Los Angeles, Meghan is originally from the city, and they feel the need to help.
Beyond offering personal shelter, they are involved with their Archewell Foundation to find effective ways to support the community in this crisis.
They are exploring volunteer opportunities to help with the mental health of those affected and to facilitate long-term recovery efforts.
In addition, all donations through the foundation are being earmarked for relief plans.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have partnered with chef José Andrés and World Central Kitchen to provide additional assistance. They have also donated essential supplies, clothing, and children’s items.
In difficult times, Harry and Meghan demonstrate that empathy and solidarity can flourish, even in the face of adversity.
