In a new trailer released Monday for the remaining episodes of a Netflix documentary series about him and his wife Meghan, Prince Harry appears to say that the British royal family was willing to lie to protect his older brother, Prince William.
The first three episodes of the long-awaited documentary, which aired last week, focused mainly on the British tabloids’ treatment of the couple and how it affected their relationship.
The royal family expected further criticism after the couple bitterly attacked some members, including their father Charles and heir to the throne William, particularly in an interview with TV host Oprah Winfrey last year.
While the first episodes contained no new revelations for the royal family, Harry talks about “institutional gassing” in the latest trailer shared by Netflix on Twitter ahead of the release of the remaining three episodes on Thursday.
“They were willing to lie to protect my brother, but they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us” – Harry will later say.
At one point Meghan also says, I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves. I was being fed to the wolves..”
Buckingham Palace has announced that it will not comment on the series. Netflix said members of the royal family declined to comment on the series, but a royal source said neither the palace nor representatives of Prince William or other royals have been contacted.
